MHF or Glue Pad?
Every ceiling has structural unevenness that could compromise the continuous adhesion of a smoke alarm attached by glue-mounting. Ramshackle ceiling materials and numerous old layers of paint add to this problem. Costly preparatory treatment of the ceiling surface only takes care of this to a limited extent. This is why the diffusion of the glue into the ceilings substructure is important, so that the smoke alarm’s adhesion to the surface is guaranteed to last. Although glue-pad mounting can conform to DIN EN 14604, our years of experience have shown that self-adhesive pads don’t offer a durable connection with the ceiling. They are furthermore extremely sensitive to fluctuations in temperature and humidity, resulting in a high rate of falling down.
In contrast, the incredibly flexible MHF installation technique for smoke alarms works with a diffusing adhesive substance that we developed to not only grip minor unevenness on the surface and shoddy building materials but to also be resistant against everyday fluctuations in temperature and humidity. Our MHF technique is, of course, also in conformation with DIN EN 14604.
MHF: Glue that diffuses across the ceiling surface and a deep connection: durable adhesion
Glue pad: No secure connection to the ceiling: an increased risk of falling down
